Why aren’t the news media celebrating trailblazers like Giorgia Meloni and Rishi Sunak?

.

Italy has its first female prime minister! The United Kingdom has its first nonwhite prime minister!

For some reason, the liberal media aren’t celebrating Giorgia Meloni and Rishi Sunak. The reason is that the left-leaning media that claim to be neutral don’t believe the things they pretend to believe.

UK PRIME MINISTER: SUNAK LEADS RACE, JOHNSON YET TO DECLARE

You would expect liberals in the media and Democrats in politics to celebrate liberal candidates and to deride conservative candidates — after all, that’s what their ideology prescribes.

But the Democrats and the news media tried to pretend they had an ideology-neutral reason for celebrating Hillary Clinton’s Democratic presidential nomination in 2016.

“Everybody ought to celebrate it, Republican or Democrat alike,” Democrat John Kerry proclaimed after Clinton won the nomination. “It’s a breakthrough.”

CNN’s news page reported after her nomination that “Hillary Clinton’s historic win changes the game for girls.”

“What happened Tuesday night was more than a political triumph,” CNN reporter Holly Yan wrote. “Regardless of party persuasion, Hillary Clinton’s victory is the definition of historic: She became the first female presidential nominee of a major political party.”

Yet Giorgia Meloni became the first female prime minister of Italy and didn’t quite get the same reaction.

Again, we were supposed to celebrate Clinton’s nomination, regardless of whether we agreed with her, so why shouldn’t we celebrate Meloni’s election, regardless of whether we agree with her?

I’ll tell you why: It’s because they were full of crap the first time.

The supposedly neutral rule they were implying — women breaking the glass ceiling is a good thing in and of itself — was BS. They never believed it. Liberals simply saw a way to defend their people and make it sound nonpartisan so as to strengthen their partisan argument.

And it’s the same with race. Regardless of party or ideology, we were supposed to (and I did) feel good that Barack Obama could win the presidency.

Now that the U.K. has a nonwhite prime minister, are we getting the same message?

Yup. When they said we should celebrate racial diversity and historic firsts, what they really meant was “we should celebrate the Left’s wins and come up with excuses to call the Right racist or sexist.”

This happens to every single black conservative in America.

It tells you lots of things. Most importantly, it means when Democrats and media liberals pretend to be talking about racism and sexism, they really mean “opinions I disagree with.”
