Ringo Starr falls ill and cancels concert

Ringo Starr has postponed a sold-out concert set for Sunday due to illness.

Although it is unclear what ails the 82-year-old, famous for being a drummer for the Beatles, he does not have COVID-19, said the Mystic Lake Casino in Minnesota, where Starr and his All-Starr Band were set to perform.

“Ringo is sick and was hoping to be able to perform, hence the late notice, but it has affected his voice,” the casino said on its website in a post published late Saturday.

A new date for the performance will be announced at a later date and full refunds are available through Nov. 1.

Sir Richard Starkey, professionally known as Ringo Starr, “and the band send peace and love to all the fans who were planning to come out and see the show,” the post said.
